Have we lost retrospective? The ability to look back and learn from our past mistakes seems to have slipped the minds of many. It's important to have this trait when advocating to learn from our mess ups in speeches, and out crys.

We have seen too many advocates, and page owners, plus some of our own team members make little inspiration or constructiveness critique to our goal.

With all the meetings we have had with our local neighborhoods, we've come to the conclusion that not everyone is on the same page, not everyone is truly aware what BSL truly is. Not everyone is aware of the dangers Craigslist posses. And not everyone is aware of the reality in shelters or of PETA.

With all the "hate pages" we have been told about, we came to another conclusion or should we say... A means of questioning these pit haters Seriousness.

We question the seriousness, for a couple of reasons. With all the posts these haters have made on their page, a majority of them come off as a joke, or moronic in statements.

Such Statements as random statistics. One in statement in particular clicked with us. (In the state of Texas and California over 2,000 dog bite attacks were by pit bulls.)

Now being that some of our teammates are in California and Texas we had to ask them is this accurate?

The statement is only partially accurate, yes there were over 2,000 bites/attacks and there are 4 states that had these statistics. Georgia, Illinois, California and Texas. However it was not by specific BREEDS. The highest rate listed was of Labradors, German Shepherds, Chihuahua's and Mixes, pit and other, from the ER records/testimonies of patients..

Will also point out that many of the patients that came into the ER couldn't really identify the dogs in question and gave the generic answer of Might have been a MIX.

So of course there is going to be over 2,000 reports! There were different dogs in the listings and furthermore that "statistic" was taken back in 2010-2011 and has fallen down to 2.1% in 2012, and has continued to lower even now.

Since advocate's and others have been stating Bite Prevention tips.

Another Statement by Anti Pit Advocates- Pits have locking jaws.

No They do not, their muscle structure even though strong, are like any other dog breed, their jaw doesn't lock. Please ask a Vet to show you Xrays of their bone structure and muscle structure and compare it to other dogs. You will see the similarities.

Anti Pit Advocate statements- Inbred, mutants, land sharks, crocodiles, alligators, attack without provocation, inherently dangerous, they don't feel pain.

Inbred- yes, if they are from puppy mills, backyard, basement breeders.
Mutants- far from it, they are DOGS nothing more

Land Sharks- Where's the fin and double eye lids?
Crocodiles/Alligators- Where's the scaly skin, and DOGS ARE NOT COLD BLOODED.

Attack without provocation- Are you positive about that, are you at the scene of the incident, do you know the full story of the event?

Inherently dangerous- Are you a genealogist now? Last checked these dogs have had their aggressive trait bred out throughout the 100+ years they were on this earth. The ones you have to watch for are those who are bred through dog fighters.

They don't feel pain- So your saying, they don't whine or whimper when their hurt? That is funny to hear people say this, when we own this type of dog, and they do feel pain, they just PUSH themselves through it, to please their owners, and when they can no longer push through it, they whine, yelp, and whimper. That is them crying in pain.

Then we have people who do not understand what BSL is, and no we are not talking about the army codes.

Breed Specific Legislation- “Breed-specific” legislation (BSL) is the blanket term for laws that either regulate or ban certain breeds completely in the hopes of reducing dog attacks. Some city/municipal governments have enacted breed-specific laws. However, the problem of dangerous dogs will not be remedied by the “quick fix” of breed-specific laws—or, as they should truly be called, breed-discriminatory laws.

Bsl- has done more than ban dogs, they have killed, ripped families apart and punished the responsible good owners. Bsl is more than just about spay/neutering these dogs, Bsl is for a total annihilation of these breeds that are on their list. As the site has stated dogs go into hiding and can lead to irresponsible people owning these breeds, which is proven to be fact- case in point Dog fighters tend to go for this breed of dog. When they go in hiding then we have a problem.

Look up the DENVER BSL act and find out the truth about this issue, trust me you will not be happy with the results you find.

Craigslist- People use craigslist to get their dogs, cats and other animals adopted out. Yet they place ads that state free to good home or less than $100, this is prime hunting ground for Dog fighters, abusers and killers, and laboratories. Just look it up there are tons of news articles about craigslist.

Shelters- are over packed with Pit bulls and Chihuahuas being the 2nd breed. Shelters that are a No kill, euthanize these dogs everyday to make room for new intakes this is a fact. they give these dogs less than a week to be adopted out. They do not network most of these dogs and people do not realize that they can find a great dog at a shelter, but continue to shop at Pet stores. Look instead of going to a pet store go to a Shelter, they have all sorts of dogs there even purebreds if that is what you're into.

PETA- My personal dealings with them, and yes I am going to speak out about this. I called and emailed to PETA about certain dogs in the IL area being starved and mistreated they told me to contact the local ACO, I did and the ACO did nothing, didn't even take the dogs away. Aco then proceeded to tell me to contact PETA, once again I did, and PETA stated they will not do anything, they do not deal with this certain situation. Last I checked PETA stood for: People for the ethical treatment of Animals. And have had taken in cats and dogs before. Why the change?
Turns out PETA isn't all it's cracked up to be. And the dogs in question, passed away because no one would step up and help these dogs.

Now onto our fellow advocates- Please remember we are making a statement and we really should not applaud the following- Bodily harm to another individual, even though some might deserve such treatment. - Advocating for killing another human being, even though we are angered by the news we received and even though maybe, in some cases those people shouldn't have existed. Every statement we make is watched and read by many, we must control our anger or it could be used against us.
We are for PRO-LIFE, pro- life means humans as well as animals, we must remember this. Not all humans are bad even though the bad ones are making it very hard to stand with the human race on some issues.

The more we learn, the more we question Humanity and the simple things of life. The more we learn, the more we appreciate our companions and animals.

We are their voice and we must remember this. Without our voice they will continue to be unheard.

Be a Voice.
Be active.
Be Strong.
Be open to possibilities.
Be The Better Person.

And DO SOMETHING TO HELP.

What Has The World Become

What has this world become? Truly, it is a mess out there, and truly some have lost respect for the four legged kind. Some have even used these wonderful creatures as profit, via Scam Organizations or in Dog fighting areas.

Greed is our downfall, and it will be our destruction, we were meant to protect these animals, not abuse, not hurt, and surely not to pit them up against another.

We as the human race must continue to evolve, we must continue to fight for what we believe in, for what is right. We must continue to help, save and speak for these animals.

We must right the wrongs, even if it leads us down into the filth. Busting bad guys, takes strength, courage and the willpower to face fears.

We as advocates, have the power to move people with our words, we as activists have the power to save animals with our actions. We as the majority have the power to protest against the BSL, and prove those who would do our animals harm, wrong.

What will it take to make people understand, that abusing, dumping and or fighting their animals is wrong? When will people wake up and understand that our animals aren't the problem, it is us, the humans, that turn them into this. 

People turn pets into something they were not supposed to be. Fighters, killers, and or hate to say it, sex toys.

People are the problem, but people can also be the solution.

It is time for all of us to wake up, and be something more, be a voice, be the protector, be the one who trains our companions correctly, be the one who will be their for them for a change.

We need change, we need to change for the better. The only way change will happen is if everyone works together for the common good, and stops attacking one another for one's opinions.

Scam organizations, puppy mills, backyard breeders, dog fighters, abusers on and on, need to be shut down, put behind bars, and never be allowed to own another animal ever again, or operate a facility.

Report abuse, dogfighters, puppy mills to the ASPCA, Humane Society and the Anti dogfighting campaign. 

Never report this to Facebook, these are  the people out there who deal with this everyday, every second. And they need you to help them to stop the criminals.

Remember this next time you see something like Dog fighting on facebook, craigslist and other social media networks. Remember to report them to the Anti dogfighting campaign, the ASPCA and Humane Society. Those people are there to help with busting criminals and saving these animals.

The followers, or should we say cult have been told to harass pro pit advocate pages. Lately they have been targeting a page that represents NZ, American Pit Bull Terrier Assn INC. Screen Shots down below to prove how unstable and illiterate these little cult trolls really are. These are some of the Usual Suspects, which are in affiliation with Colleen Lynn. APBT Inc and Our Team have had some long heated debates with them, defending once again our breeds that have been slandered.

That certainly is not the latest research, as you can all plainly see those articles are from 2011 and 2012. On top of the fact it isn’t even studies, it is medical records and notes that MD’s have taken over a course of a year, documenting dog bite incidents, does it say pit bulls? Yes, do we think they know for sure it was a Pit bull? No, because it has been proven that there are those who cannot distinguish a pit bull from a white boxer, or Dogo Argentino or even a bulldog or even a terrier.

Apparently Lynne was blind to one detail this article stated such as this:

Shocking to see those whom support BSL say that it is flawed, oh my!

Did Lynne also forget to mention the TEXAS STUDY was a flawed one and has been thrown out, case in point:

(Dr. Bonnie Beaver, a professor of veterinary medicine at Texas A&M University and an expert in dog behavior, described the study as flawed. Beaver, a former president of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, who led a national task force on preventing dog bites, has testified against breed-specific bans before state lawmakers.

“These are serious injuries to humans, and I do not mean to belittle the seriousness of the problem seen at the hospital,” Beaver said. “However, the dog-related data is seriously flawed, and are used at will to try to prove a specific point of view.”

Raghavan, is a BSL enthusiast of course Raghavan would partially lie about studies that have been discontinued or thrown away, due to the flawed aspect.

Did not read the studies, yet quotes Raghavan. Interesting to say the least, the simple copying and pasting of statements without one ounce of legitimate proof supplied. Who is to say that these people actually obtained it from Ragahavan and not Colleen?

Banning any breed of dog would not help the issue, people would just move on to the next desirable breed, so where would this leave us? Genocide, wiping out every single dog in existence this is what BSL would be capable of, yet these people fail to realize this. This is why we fight; this is what keeps us going, to fight against BSL to prevent this Genocide from happening.

This is our reality, and until these people wake up, our fight will continue.

Who said we were ignoring the studies? Peer-reviewed, please Lynne read what you have said. PEER-REVIEWED, this is saying that these studies are nothing more than NOTES. Notes tend to have misinformation, and propaganda behind it, since those who are viewing it have the same narrow mindedness as the ones who wrote it. We are open to discussion and opinions yet if it is repetitive, we tend to turn off our attention to you. AWA was and has been honest behind their reasoning you are just failing to see the points behind it.

As APBT pointed out, the Spanish study showed nothing of what Lynne Stated. You didn’t have access Lynne? I think it was more along the lines, of not wanting the truth being stated.

Veterinarians do not resist Breed restrictions yet they do have a difference in opinions, about this issue. Yet Luke feels as though no one in that profession should have an opinion or a right to voice his or her opinion. Are we saying all Veterinarians are not swindlers or frauds? No, yet those types are few far and in-between. Comparing the Tobacco, Gun, and Hotel industry to Veterinarians is like saying a Drama Actor portraying a doctor can do real surgeries. Luke your statement is flawed.

Please explain how a DOG can hijack an idea or a reputation, it’s improbable, A dog cannot communicate like us, ergo has no voice to talk or make speeches pertaining to how one feels. We as humans are the ones who can HIJACK ideas or reputation and slap it on dogs. However, in this instance, nothing was hijacked. One more thing, you spelled organization wrong.

We also forgot to mention Luke; the ones who misidentify the pit bulls are those who cannot distinguish the differences, since MEDIA shows dog pictures that are of BULLDOGS and or a DOGO… So, who is actually making it worse for whom?
Funny we do not remembering slandering any Chihuahua, yet, if you have to get technical, you do realize those small cute dogs were bred to kill snakes and protect their families right, so since they were bred to protect and kill an animal, Should we ban them too? Because that is what you trolls are stating.

Really now? We're protesting against the sterilization law? Funny I see signs that say END BSL, not sterilization laws. Colleen take your pills, you're hallucinating. For those who think BSL is just a sterilization tactic, is truly blind! It is more than sterilization it is Genocide, it is punishing responsible owners and ignoring the true problem...(Dog Fighters). It is ripping dogs from homes and putting them to death when there is a BAN established.

IN REGARDS TO THE WESTWEGO PIT BULL ORDINANCE - This is in part, the email that we sent to Councilman Glenn Green. As you can plainly see, there is nothing here that says we support BSL. What so many are doing is twisting my words of "showing support" as in we were supportive of the fact that he removed the BAN ordinance and was willing to meet halfway with rules such as spay/neuter, etc. providing it applied to all dogs. Again, in part this is the email that was sent......

If this ordinance is specifically for the Pit Bull breed, then the "bad guys" will get rid of their dogs to avoid any fines, violations and trouble from the law. They will then move on to a different breed. Right now the next most popular breed is the Cane Corso Mastiff. We're seeing ALOT of them in the area now. They're quickly becoming the next breed of choice for these "bad guys". So what then? We will have to create a Mastiff Ordinance? Or a Rottweiler Ordinance? And the list goes on. So what I propose is you put forth what Los Angeles did. and that's create these rules for all dogs. Why single out one breed? Why not make it safe for all dog owners and their dogs and the neighbors, etc? There is no reason that ANY dog should have to live on a chain or remain un-altered to create more unwanted puppies. Why not make it so that these ordinances come into effect so that animal control and law enforcement and rescuers have some leverage against owners who treat their dogs horribly?

So I'm sure you're getting bombarded with all sorts of ideas but I want to assure you that we are a group of level headed people that are here to assist you with anything you need to help create a safe and happy environment for the people of Westwego and their dogs.

Voices For The Breeds Does Not Tolerate NJ 101.5

We have been contacted by a lot of people asking for us to help with this issue that a radio stations 3 hosts NJ 101.5 has said. From the reports I have gathered it happened on May 21, 2013, there is also a flier circulating around the social networks.

 

These 3 Radio hosts do indeed support animal abuse, along with human abuse since they have been known to terrorize their listeners and laugh at them, whenever someone becomes defensive or has something that is intelligent and right to say.

These 3 hosts mocked and poked fun at Sammy. These 3 hosts stated that animal advocates and activists do not have their priorities straight. Well Ray, Judi, and Dennis. I love to break this to you, we do have our priorities straight, we know full well how animals have emotions and can feel pain.

Do dogs not yelp or whimper when they are injured? Yes they do.
Do dogs not get excited when you return home? Yes THEY DO.
Do dogs not "Feel" playful when you play fetch or other games with them? YES THEY DO. Do dogs not show the signs of anger? Yes they do, They also get frustrated  confused, and bored. All feelings am I correct? I believe and Know I am correct.

Quite Frankly I see this as, Judi, Dennis and Ray need to be retired off the air, for mentally unstable purposes. If these 3 continue to be on the air, the station will continue to lose ratings, and listeners. So unless you want your station to be sort to speak FORGOTTEN, I would take this liberty of letting those 3 go, and finding replacements OR there is an alternative, which is a public apology and them going to Animal Education Awareness Classes.

We as the advocates for all breeds and animals are not BLIND, DEAF, OR MUTE. We see, we hear, and we do speak out against people who make fun, mock and or joins in on the abuse. We will not be silent, we will not be blinded, we will not be made deaf or lose our voices. We will not turn our backs to this treacherousness act of hatred towards man/woman's counterparts.

These animals might not have a voice of their own to speak of their pain, however, that is why we are here. We are here to be their voice their messenger! What happen to Sammy was a disgrace, it was cruelty, it was a heinous act toward a defenseless animal.

Game Dogs And You

What are game dogs?

In this article, We will be explaining the different types of Game Dogs.
Our Views and Opinions, We are not targeting any specific breed of dog.

First, I would like to get into the Aggressive Behavioral discussion, based on the work of Grigorenko & Sternberg.

The field of psychology has been greatly influenced by the study of genetics. Decades of research has demonstrated that both genetic and environmental factors play a role in a variety of behaviors in humans and animals (e.g. Grigorenko & Sternberg, 2003). The genetic basis of aggression, however, remains misunderstood. Aggression is a multi-dimensional concept, but it can be generally defined as behavior that inflicts pain or harm on another.

Genetic-developmental theory states that individual differences in a continuous phenotype result from the action of a large number of genes, each exerting an effect that works with environmental factors to produce the trait. Because this type of trait is influenced by multiple factors, it is more complex and difficult to study than a simple Mundelein trait (one gene for one phenotype)
This is where selective breeding comes in to play, for some.

Selective breeding

The heritability of aggression has been observed in many animal strains after noting that some strains of birds, dogs, fish, and mice seem to be more aggressive than other strains. Selective breeding has demonstrated that it is possible to select for genes that lead more to aggressive behavior in animals. Selective breeding examples also allow researchers to understand the importance of developmental timing for genetic influences on aggressive behavior. A study done in 1983 (Cairns) produced both highly aggressive male and female strains of mice dependent on certain developmental periods to have this more aggressive behavior expressed. These mice were not observed to be more aggressive during the early and later stages of their lives but during certain periods (in their middle-age period) were more violent and aggressive in their attacks on other mice. Selective breeding is a quick way to select for specific traits with the effects of selection being seen within a few generations of breeding. These characteristics make selective breeding an important tool in the study of genetics and aggressive behavior.

However, for dog fighter breeders, this selective breeding makes this ability for them to make the perfect aggressive dog fighting dog. Which is why they use certain breeds for this to be made possible, these dogs are classified as the gripping class. 

The first type of game dogs that we are all familiar with is the dog fighting type. Yet, how much do you really know about dog fighting dogs? Only what the media and the BSL tell you, which are the Pit bull type dogs. This is FALSE, since there is more than one gripping type of breed. Dog fighting game dogs can be any breed that is classified as a gripper. This stems from the Pit bull type dogs, to Rottweiler’s, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, just to name a few.

Let us not think about their breed now, but focus on what has been bred into them, by the dog fighting breeders. This is the following; aggression, agility, stamina; these traits mark the ability to continue even when exhausted.

Dog fighting game dogs can show no signs of aggression, until it is too late. They can snap without notice, they are usually only animal aggressive but have been known to be both human and animal aggressive.
Most common question I have received, can these dogs be rehabilitated? When it comes to dog fighting game dogs; no, they cannot be rehabilitated, if they were selectively bred for this type of aggression. This is heartbreaking and not their fault. The blame lies on the people who have bred them to be aggressive and vicious.

Why is it, that Media always portrays pit bulls as vicious or aggressive?

A majority of dog fighters breed pit bull type dogs or American Pit bull terriers to be accurate as “Game Dogs”. A majority of these dogs portrayed in the media are not APBT’S or “Game Dogs”. A majority of these dogs are mixed breeds, which have been giving the misfortune in having a bad life and have been trained to attack those not related to family. You will never see dog fighting game dogs on the news, yet you always hear that a dog has been euthanized after a dog-fighting bust.

I am strictly talking about GAME DOGS, not a breed. So please do not confuse what I am saying to be targeting a specific breed, when I am not targeting any breed. 

Game Dogs are a real problem for us as dog owners, due to the issue of these dogs not being able to be distinguished from house pet and game dog.

Game dogs, as I have stated rarely show signs of aggression, and can snap without provocation. Yet there have been rumors floating around on Pit bull forums that Dog fighters have been drugging their dogs up with RC Horse vitamins.  They do this for 10 days, and stop treatment, which supposedly causes the dog to run hot (irritated, aggressive, withdrawal symptoms.)

How does one go about breeding these Game Dogs?

I am not a genetics professional, yet my guesses are from what I have read, on Genetics and Eugenic books. 
They breed their winning dogs, which have shown the most aggression in the keep or pit fighting area, keeping the bloodline with the most aggressive traits, which is what scientists and Eugenics programs have been breeding out of all dogs, mice, cats, etc.

With this happening, the breeders over breed and tend to dump dogs that do not meet the requirements, either at the shelter or they kill and dump the bodies.

The ones that land up at the shelters are just puppies, to 1yr olds, with no signs of aggression traits yet, which leads them to pass the temperament test. This leads to adoption, which leads to about 1 or 2 years later showing these aggressive traits… This then leads to people attacked in their own homes or on the street if this said dog gets loose...

So whom do we really blame for this atrocity, we blame Dog fighters that breed dogs for fighting. These people cause our problem; these people use these dogs in the pit area to make money. This business is a billion dollar profit, which causes harm not only to the dogs but also to people who adopt dogs that are not suitable for adoption, because they passed a temperament test.

Yes, even the temperament test is flawed along with the BITE STATISTIC test.

What about the dogs that are not purely Game Dogs?
Most of those dogs, do not survive the pit area, and become disposed of. Those that survive go on to another fight and continue until they lose and die, or retired to become a breeding partner dog.

Hunting Dogs- Game Dogs
These are not dangerous dogs; these dogs purpose as in training wise are to track down animals and take them down, or retrieve out of watery, bush type areas. They are house pets primarily. No hunter will keep human or animal aggressive dogs in or near their pack and family.
Their dogs are bred for intelligence, agility, and strength not aggression, sometimes referred to as Game dogs because of their built and agility trait.

We know hunting dogs as, Retrievers, Hounds (Bassett, Blood, Fox, and Cur). Even the Terrier class which includes, Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Terriers, so as for my statements before about the “Pit type dogs” they were originally bred for hunting (working class).

Competition (Dog Olympics) - Game Dogs
Again these types of game dogs, not aggressive in anyway. They are trained to pull weights, jump and tug on ropes, swim down in water to obtain weights, run for long distances, do obstacle courses in a time limit setting, Catching Frisbee’s, balls, batons and so on.
Their traits are Agility, speed, strength and intelligence for puzzle solving which they can do.
Some obstacle courses have puzzles to solve to get a treat at the end, but again there is a set time limit. I have witness many of these sports, games for these types of dogs, I am partial to those who can catch the Frisbees’ in mid air. I find that very awesome, because it shows their agile and gracefulness.

Most of these competitions I find cruel for the dog, yet it gives the dogs something to do, to keep them active and healthy. I do not agree with the weight pulls or underwater diving, due to the fact that they can get hurt doing those events.

However, again, they are not aggressive; they are primarily house pets/family members. Breeds in this group are Pit type dogs, Retrievers’, Dobermans, and Shepherds and so on.

As per recent conversation I am adding this little bit of information on why, I say Game fighting dogs are more aggressive and out of control, it is because of the New generation of dog fighting breeders, who lack control, and skill to train and breed these dogs properly. The older generation of dog fighters were more astute and cared whether or not the dog was human aggressive. As of today's dog fighters, they do not, all they care for is the money.

Now for the wrap up:


For the past 3 months, I have found that Game dogs used for fighting have abnormality in their muscle structure (more bulky, than what their original breed was designed for). Muscle structure is supposed to be sleek, coat shiny, in proportion with their head mass, not bulging like game dogs have been looking.
More or Less this is how you can semi tell the difference between game dogs and house pets.


As I have explained the different types of game dogs, that I have studied for the past 3 months. I will say this, the dogs are not to blame it is the people, who use them for selfish purposes; which is dog fighting, and some athletic competition that is dangerous, that reward money if they win.

Dogs are the victims, Irresponsible people are the cause, and Advocates/Rescues/Activists are the solution. You are either the problem or Solution, which are you? Which will you be?

Will you join the fight to help save our dogs? On the other hand, will you be the problem that spreads the myth that all dogs are inherently dangerous?

It is your choice, yet if you were an animal lover, you would chose to help us fight the myths and rumors that surround the dogs that are being targeted.
